Discussing March 2014’s Poll

Only 68 people voted in last month’s poll, which makes it the least-popular since I reintroduced polls back in 2011. To be fair, it wasn’t much of a poll. It asked readers whether they owned any books about M*A*S*H. Here are the results:

Yes (68%, 46 Votes)
No (32%, 22 Votes)

Not surprisingly, the majority of people visiting a website dedicated to M*A*S*H own at least one book about the series. Personally, I own the following:

  • All About M*A*S*H – Peggy Herz
  • Watching M*A*S*H, Watching America – James H. Wittebols
  • The Last Days of M*A*S*H – Arlene Alda & Alan Alda
  • M*A*S*H: The Exclusive, Inside Story of T.V.’s Most Popular Show (Revised) – David S. Reiss
  • The Complete Book of M*A*S*H – Suzy Kalter
  • M.A.S.H. Trivia: The Unofficial Quiz Book – George St. John

What books do you own?

This month’s poll was suggested by Crabapple Cove. It asks “Which character’s development did you enjoy the most?” and the options are Radar, Margaret and Klinger.

  1. I have read “MASH: The Ultimate Guide Book” and “To MASH and Back” by Gary Burghoff, but I checked both out of the library. I have never owned any of the books. I started reading the original MASH novel at one point but never managed to finish it.

  2. …I was actually Googling Suzy Kalter…to see where she might be now, and came across this site. Specifically, the Google search for Kalter and MASH brought me to this specific page. Then, by golly, I saw the name of the book I co-authored. And so, let me take this opportunity to thank both of you…Seoul City Sue and Crabaple Cove, for reading our book. At over 800 pages, it was the thickest book Bearmanor had ever done, and we had contributions from over 45 MASH alumni. But we wished even more could have been in it. Thanks again, I hope you enjoyed it. Mark O’Neill
