Radio, film and television actor Elliott Reid passed away last Friday (June 21st) at the age of 93. Perhaps most famous for his role in the 1953 Marilyn Monroe/Jane Russell film Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, Reid’s career began in the 1930s. He made his Broadway debut in 1937 and his film debut in in 1940. His earliest television work was a 1947 episode of Kraft Television Theatre. In the early 1960s, he developed an impersonation of President Kennedy that the president reportedly found hilarious.

Reid never guest starred on M*A*S*H but he did appear in a November 1983 episode of AfterMASH. He also co-wrote three episodes during the show’s first season with Everett Greenbaum.

Obituraries can be found at The New York Times and The Los Angeles Times.

(Thanks to Dan for passing this along.)
