“Requiem for a Lightweight” (1×03)… it was so funny how Radar made a very unconvincing “mean” face, yet Trapper was beginning to freak out.

RADAR: A guy told me that he was crossing the road, and this jeep came too close to him… he punched it.
      TRAPPER: He PUNCHED a jeep?!
      RADAR: Knocked it out.
TRAPPER: Hawkeye, this guy knocks out jeeps!!!
      HAWKEYE: *Pause* Showboat.

BTW RJ, (I’ll tell ya here since e-mails seem to be hit-and-miss), I had another idea for a new entry here, maybe for the Interact section, contradicting the claim made in The Complete Book of M*A*S*H that the writers only recycled a joke once (during Season Ten); I can think of a few off the top of my head, mostly from the first two seasons.

    7. RJ says:

“Requiem for a Lightweight” is correct.

    8. Big Daddy O'Reilly says:

      … or not. *Shrug*

    9. RJ says:

Sorry BDOR, that is a really interesting idea. I seem to recall Mike Farrell discussing how the show supposedly only repeated one joke during one of the various documentaries/reunion specials. It may have been E!’s “M*A*S*H TV Tales,” which I have on tape. I’ll try to look at it tomorrow.
