As part of an article discussing the fate of The Mary Tyler Moore Show on DVD, the Star Tribune (free subscription required) put together a listing of the top selling “classic” shows on DVD.
What came in at number one? The very first season of M*A*S*H, which was released back in January 2002. As of August 2004, the first season DVD has sold roughly 550,000 units.
By comparison, the second title on the list, All In The Family, has sold only 125,000 units. This is the first real statistic to be released regarding how many sets have been sold and is fantastic news for M*A*S*H.
